I had a pretty amazing week come full circle for me on Sunday.  Let me dial back to Wednesday night youth group where we took the second step in our journey through the great book of Ephesians.  In Ephesians 1:3-14, Paul cannot stop talking about what God has done for us in Christ.  In fact, so moved is Paul, that the 12 verses we have in our English translations are ONE long sentence that Paul wrote in Greek.  What moves Paul is how God "has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he...

FPC-2PC Joint Service

FPC and 2PC Joint ServiceOn Sunday evening, May 15, at 6:00pm the congregations of First and Second Presbyterian Churches came together for a joint worship service.  The service was held in the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church at Washington and Powell streets downtown.  Rev. Sam Smith of First led the service, and Rev. David Gilbert of Second preached the Word.  It was a special evening.

Team Acapulco

 Everyone is so excited about the Acapulco Mission trip on June 12-19. The 30 member mission team will be going to an orphanage in Acapulco, Mexico to share their various gifts and talents. There will be many opportunities to make donations to help with the cost of the trip. The first opportunity is the steak dinner on March 27. These are great steaks grilled to perfection and the potato casserole is delicious. Please remember to pray for all the First Family members going to Acapulco. What a blessing to have so many members willing to offer their time and gifts...

Here at First Presbyterian Church we've finally made the big leap to MP3 recording.  This means a couple of things regarding how you might go about obtaining archived sermons and services.Every week the sermons from the morning and evening services from the previous Sunday will be made available for you to download on the Sermon Archive page.  The files will be the sermons only and not the whole service.If you would like to order a sermon or a whole service on CD, you may do so by contacting the church office.
