Pastor's Welcome


Are you looking for a church home? If so, we invite you to come to join us at First Presbyterian Church, Yazoo City. At FPC we are pretty much consumed with one thing: Jesus. 

We are a historic Church, founded in 1841, but we are not stale.  The message that you will hear when you visit with us is one of God’s grace. You will not be burdened with extra rules and regulations, just plain and simple gospel preaching about Jesus.  We believe that He accomplished everything needed for our salvation.  We preach and teach that all of us are guilty of sinning against a holy God, but in Jesus Christ we have been shown God’s amazing grace, therefore, we live a life of gratitude.

If this is the kind of teaching you crave, then we invite you to come worship with us. Remember when you visit, however, that FPC is a church full of sinners. Every person who has ever walked through the doors of this church is one.  We don’t try to hide that fact and we certainly don’t revel in it.  Sin has affected everything about us:  our work places, our relationships, and our worship.  Reclaiming the precious art of worshiping God in all of life is what we are about, however, so come expecting great things.

Statement of Belief


First Presbyterian Church subscribes fully to the infallible and inerrant Word of God and to the doctrines of grace set forth by the Westminster Confession of Faith as adopted by the PCA.
