Day Two a Lil' Hotter, a Lil' Sweatier

We had a great day today.  The morning was probably the best because we got to mix concrete and pour it into the path we prepped yesterday.  It was very satisfying to look on the finished project which was completed by lunch time.  The teamwork was great as we had people constantly at work either filling buckets of gravel, filling buckets of sand, loading and unloading cement bags, transporting concrete and pouring it, and leveling the sidewalk as we moved down.

VBS probably didn't go as well as we wanted it to, but we still had a blast with the kids.  Part of the reason for the "not so well" was that our numbers swelled to about 150, and we were probably a little too organized for our own good.  Tomorrow we plan on making a little simpler, and taking more time to just love on the kids, who are so adorable with shining personalities.

We would ask that you pray for continued health and safety at the work sight.  We have many great handlers who have been so helpful as they've led us and labored with us in the construction project.  We also ask that you'd pray for us to have the proper mindsets as we go to VBS each afternoon.  It's easy to think that we are here just to provide a systematized Bible time for these kids, but we are really here to share the love and grace of our Savior with them.  The children are not completely bilingual, but it is not hard to communicate with them, and we hope to communicate the love of Christ above all else.  Thank you all for checking up on us.  And be sure to check the updated photo album.
