Greetings
after a good day of work and fun! We began the day with a breakfast of
Canadian bacon, scrambled eggs, and a tortilla (breakfast burrito,
anyone?). We then headed to the Presbyterian High School to begin our
construction project which consisted of laying the framework for a new
sidewalk, prepping existing sidewalk framework, and cleaning out the
most recently constructed building. Tomorrow we'll be doing the heavy
lifting as we mix concrete and pour it. The great thing is that they
have rented a concrete mixer so we don't have to do it by shovel.VBS was a blast. We were told the first day would only be 35-50, but we ended up with around 90 kids. It was great. We divided them into 5 groups by age, and they rotated between 5 stations: a lesson in the form of a skit performed by some of the Houston group, games with Jeppie, snacks with Fred, Snooky and Beverly, songs with Elliott, and crafts with Terri and Jo. The rest helped out here and there and everywhere. As you can see in the pictures in the Belize photo album, it was a BLAST!!! There are a few here, and more to view and more to be added each day in the photo album.
